About Dallas
Los Angeles recording artist Dallas Greene established herself as a charismatic musical staple in her hometown of Rochester, New York, before relocating to LA in 2022.
In 2020, she independently released her debut album “The Distance Between,” partnering with Breedlove Guitars, and making her Los Angeles debut at the historic Lighthouse in Hermosa Beach in February 2023.
Supporting iconic acts like Don McLean, Little River Band and more, Dallas has performed up and down the west coast and is a recurring favorite at Rochester’s Park Ave Festival, which draws approximately 250,000 attendees each year.
Dallas’s musical style blends emotional honesty with memorable melodies, drawing from indie-folk, soft rock, and pop influences like Sheryl Crow, Kacey Musgraves, and Shawn Colvin. She is eager to release her long-awaited upcoming project and national tour schedule for 2026.
"The dreamy sounds of cicadas chirping and a cool breeze blowing through the trees tastefully open and close the song. Greene's voice is warm and smoky, with a bittersweet tenderness similar to Suzanne Vega. Meanwhile, the instrumental arrangement underneath develops dramatically over the course of the song. During the double chorus at the end, the backing vocals from the bridge continue to chant a reassuring mantra, as if to counteract the head-spinning feeling of being in love. Using angelic harmonies and a playful give-and-take between major and minor modes, “Safe in the Shade” is a dark alternative pop song that grapples with loving someone from a shadowed distance."
